Digital Photography and Imaging Project 2B

Reference:

Before making my poster i decided to do some research for some retro posters, this is because i wanted to create something that has a retro vibes to it.

Next after looking at some posters, i need to choose the photograph that i am going to use for my poster, this was quite fast since i already have some ideas of what photo should i pick to use on my poster. Since my quote is about Doing what you love. I decided it would be best to use a picture of some workers.

First Picture

Second Picture

However, when i saw the image that i had on my gallery. i know that i can't use the whole picture, otherwise the quote would not grab the audience attention.

So I used the method from the previous exercise, to extract only the workers part. I decided to use the first picture, i used the quick selection tool to do this part quickly

Next i need to add a background color that has a pale color. After that i need to make the workers color to black and white to make it more blend in to the background. i also used clipping mask so the background color won't be affected by the filter.

After that, it's time to move on to Adobe illustrator to make the typography:

Since i wanted my poster to have a retro vibe into it, after I've done the illustrator part, I decided to put it back into Photoshop to add some grain and vignette into it, for this part i used the Camera RAW filter

And After some tweaking here's the final picture/poster:
