Instruction:

For this project, we are asked to make an animation using after effects.

Timeframe: WEEK 10 - WEEK 14
Duration: 15 seconds
Output: .MOV or .MP4 less than 20MB
Size: 1080 x 1920 px (I.G reel/ story size)


Idea Development: 5 marks (WEEK 10)
Design Direction: 5 marks (WEEK 11)

Execution and Post Production: 10 marks (WEEK 12)
Animation & Finishing: 10 marks (WEEK 13)

Progress Work:

After I've done the idea development part, I begin to search for a suitable photo to be used on this project.

At first i wanted to use this image, however i quickly found out that this photo doesn't align with the results that i wanted. So i decided to look for another image

After looking for a while, I found this better picture. Since in this picture my legs isn't visible, which is better since this assignments requirements is a portrait orientation

Next, is putting the picture on adobe photoshop to remove the unnecessary part:

I used the background removal tool to remove the background quickly.

However, after using the background removal tool, it's still not accurate. so I need to use the quick selection tool to refine it further. After i used the quick removal tool here's the final results.

Next I needed to find some Collage elements that I could use on my artwork, my goal is to use something that has a retro vibes into it. so below are the elements that I found & decided to use.

After i've found the elements that i am going to use, it's time to put it all together on adobe photoshop, this progress doesn't take long since i've already have a reference of what my artwork would look like.

Below are my progress.

At first i wanted to make something that's simple, however after i completed this first design. i quickly realized that there are too many empty spaces on my work. so i decided to add the disc.

After i added the disc, there is still some empty spaces, and this is where the wavy texture comes in.

After i've done composing the collage, next is to animate it on after effects. Once again, for this part i wanted to animate the disco ball, and the disc.

After i've done everything here's the final results. Below are the poster and the video
