Task 4: Webcomic
Instruction:
Progress Work:
The goal of this task is creating a surrealism webcomic based on the story
"The Monkey Paw". We are asked to choose the part of the story that we wanted
to illustrate.
After I've picked the part of the story that I wanted to turn into a webcomic,
now its time to come up with the sketches, the transition and composition.

| Transition & Composition |
After I've done the sketch part, now its time to put it into illustrator to
develop it further, this time was time consuming and I've spent the longest
time in this part and It took multiple attempts, below are my first attempt
at doing this part.
And after a little bit of time I finally finished the illustrator part, I
just needed to add some texture to make it more realistic, and then I could
move on to do the animation.
Next up is the animation, which is really straightforward. The part that I decided to animate is the third panel (waiting for the stranger) and the final panel.
After I've done the comic part, now its time to create the comic cover, for
this part I didn't have that many references, however, I wanted to create
something that is very easy to read even from far away.
So for this part I decided to use a big font for the title and then scale it
up and then put it in the middle of the cover.
The image above is the reference I found online, I wanted to create
something familiar but put the title on the center of the cover. So below
are the sketches & the cover that I made.
After I've Done everything it's time to put it all into 1 google slides:
Self Reflection:
Although this is the hardest assignment from IVN yet, I had much fun doing
this project. and thanks to this project I became a lot more efficient at
using Adobe illustrator, I became more efficient and began using the Pencil
Tool and Pen tool to trace an image. I also start using the shape builder
tool to make shapes quickly.
Although there's still a lot of flaws and imperfection in this project, I
believe that I could improve my adobe illustrator skills in the future.
